“It was amazing. Relief, because of how tough it was and how much blood I had on my shirt from my nipples, and my feet were killing me as I lost a toenail. Rookie mistakes — but I was buzzing to get my first Major.”
The Atmosphere
“It was just an all-out party the whole way. I enjoyed every minute of it. The people of Chicago were amazing and supportive. Definitely one I'd do again.”
Lessons Learned
The Chicago Marathon represented the first massive hurdle — a flat, fast loop running through 29 neighbourhoods. This is where Kelvin Kiptum set the 2:00:35 world record in 2023, and standing on that same course felt electric.
